The first game on Saturday, September 2 will be a special one! For the first time, The Honor Bowl has a team traveling from Texas to play in the showcase. This will be a great game featuring also a strong local San Diego squad!
Trinity Valley (TX) coming in from Fort Worth is thrilled to have the opportunity to learn first-hand why The Honor Bowl is ‘more than just a football game!’ The Trojans’ Head Coach Matt Morrison is from the San Diego area and wanted to give his team a trip to the west coast and how special that they would match up against a formidable local San Diego team. Junior QB Gavin Parkhurst will lead his team on the offense where he accumulated 2589 passing yards with 23 TDs. He also rushed for 997 yards and 17 TDs. Junior RBs Ben Ngishu and Jacob Mainord will continue yardage on the ground. Sr WR Carter Lea had 45 catches for 790 yards and 5 touchdowns along with Sr WR Tucker Howell had 51 catches for 587 yards and 7 touchdowns. Defensively, Jr LB Jacob Mainord had 140 tackles in 22, Sr DB Tucker Howell had 57 tackles, 5 Int. (2 taken back for TDs) and one fumble recovery. Sr DB Luke Williams had 34 tackles and 2 Int. Top returning lineman Sr Will Scott, 6’7” 295 lbs. was Honorable Mention All-State.
